In the spirit of our namesake, Mr. Calvin E. Bright, our goal is to ensure our talented, motivated, and inspired scholars to have the academic support and resources that will assist them in attaining their educational, personal, and professional goals and dreams.
Bright Success Center staff do this by engaging scholars in programs and workshops designed to support them as they transition to and through UC Merced. We believe each of our scholars bring experiences with them that will make them successful at UC Merced. Our hope is to support them through their educational journey as they identify areas of growth, deepen and develop skills, and learn about resources and opportunities UC Merced has to offer.
We strive to create opportunities and touchpoints for our scholars to be academically successful. We do so by facilitating opportunities for them to feel connected to the community and like they belong through programs such as Success Mentor Program, Transfer, Returning, and Veteran Programs, and Fiat Lux. We also offer programs that help scholars understand academic expectations such as Student Accessibility Services, PALS and Fiat Lux, and community-specific programs such as Services for Undocumented Students and Guardian Scholars.
Our goal is to assist our scholars achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. Ultimately, we want our scholars to reflect on and answer the question: What's your success story?
Please stop by Kolligian Library 222 to learn more about our services and say hello!
Let our journey together begin!
