The DARTS Program is pleased to introduce a textbook loan program that provides Scholars with the option to save on the cost of textbooks. The Textbook Loan Program gives Scholars of the DARTS Program the opportunity to borrow textbooks for the duration of one semester. I, TYPE YOUR NAME BELOW, am a DARTS Scholar. By entering my name here, I confirm that I have read and understand the following DARTS Book Loan Terms and Conditions below: 1. I understand loaned textbooks are the property of the DARTS Program. By agreeing to the terms of this book loan program I accept responsibility over the materials and I will return them to the DARTS Program in resalable condition. 2. The DARTS Program does not accept books that are returned if they have water damage, smoke damage, missing pages, or are in general bad shape. Both front and back cover must be intact and the spine must not be broken to the point that the pages are detaching from the binding. Limited highlighting and writing in borrowed material is permitted. The Scholar, not the DARTS Program, is responsible if the books are stolen or lost. 3. If I fail to return all books in good condition according to Statement #2 (as determined by DARTS Staff), I understand that I will either pay for the damaged book(s) or buy a new book for the DARTS Program. 4. I will return the loaned book receipts immediately to the DARTS Program after receiving the books from the bookstore. 5. If I decide to drop one or more courses, I am responsible for letting the DARTS Program know immediately. I will also return all loaned materials from the dropped course(s) to the DARTS office immediately (not to the bookstore). 6. I will return loaned materials to the DARTS office on or before close of business on the book return date of December 18, 2015 (or last day of final exams). Failure to return materials by this date may result in a hold on my student account and/or dismissal from the DARTS Program. 7. I have read and fully understand the provisions of this agreement. Completion of my book loan transaction constitutes my acceptance of the agreement terms.
This constitutes my acceptance of the BOOK LOAN AGREEMENT and thus will make these benefits available to me after I submit a copy of my class schedule to the DARTS program via e-mail (dartsprogram@ucmerced.edu) or as a physical copy in the office.
